If I may be so bold. The most powerful prayer I have experienced is Comteplative Prayer. It is a prayer where you try to quiet your mind and your heart and just rest in God’s Prescience. God hears us best when turn ourselves off. I wrote 4 or 5 articles on it. I think there are still one or two still up. The gist is to let Holy Spirit Pray for you. If we try to pray we are not listening for God to speak to us. St John if the Cross said that if ever quit the Prayer (as the hermits only the desert and the Trappist call it) it is almost impossible to start back again. Another person that is used as an example is St Teresa of Avila.
