Epidemics and Pandemics

Pandemics and Epidemics

All caused by an infinitesimal virus.

Viruses were unknown even at the time of the 1918 Influenza Pandemic. This infestation lasted from 1918 to 1920.

It was caused by the H1N1 virus and reappeared in 2009. It killed 50 to 100 million people. So many died in Alabama they couldn’t all be counted.

This situation is similar today. Convicts in Rikers Island are paid to dig a mass grave and bury people. They are paid $6.00 an hour.

We don’t even know how many people are dying.

One doctor told Buzzfeed News that deaths are vastly underreported because no one is checking.

“And two of the hardest-hit areas in the nation — New York City and Los Angeles County — released guidance earlier this week encouraging doctors not to test patients unless they think the test will significantly change their course of treatment. That means that potentially more people in both places could be admitted to hospitals with severe respiratory symptoms and recover — or die — and not be registered as a coronavirus case.” Buzzfeed News By Nidhi Prakash and Ellie Hall
